If you live in West Richland, the Lewis & Clark Ranch plan now has a name on it. Amazon Web Services confirmed Monday that it's the real buyer behind the $264 million deal for nearly 1,000 acres from the estate of Frank Tiegs. Trammell Crow Co. bought the land in July, and AWS said such arrangements are standard. The campus along Ruppert Road would start with three buildings and could grow to 21.

The council was set to take up interim rules Tuesday at 6 p.m. NEWStalk 870 reported that staff was recommending approval of an ordinance allowing data centers in the Mixed-Use/Light Industrial zone for six months. City officials said no formal applications have been filed.
