- ➤ A fire damaged the dust collection unit near the woodshop at Kiona-Benton High School in Benton City on Thursday and fire crews responded at 11 a.m. to put out the blaze within 30 minutes while investigators suspect a glowing ember started it; no injuries were reported. KONA

- ➤ Susan Mendenhall of Kennewick and Pasco IHOP restaurants was awarded 2024 IHOP Franchisee of the Year at the 2025 Global Franchisee Conference, making her the first to win the honor three times + she credited her team's care for regular customers and noted syrup caddies will return in January. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Pasco Fire Department disposed of over 140 gallons of toxic aqueous film-forming foam—making it the first in the state to join the Ecology program—and the foam was sent to Utah for incineration while the department now uses PFAS-free F-3 foam.
