Good morning, Richland.

Richland’s Friends of the Library will host a Friends-Only Preview of its Fall Book Sale on October 15 from 5 pm to 7 pm—nonmembers may join at the door for $10 for individuals or $15 for families to get early access to discounted books that support library programs.

The public sale runs on Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm, on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and ends with a $5 Bag Day on October 18 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Richland Public Library on Northgate Drive.

Scammers are using new AI tools to steal identities during Halloween season by crafting very realistic emails, texts and calls that trick people into sharing private information — experts warn residents to check messages carefully to avoid falling victim to these scams — while fraud cases continue to rise.

The Richland Police Department will host a Drug Take Back Day on October 25th (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) at its station (George Washington Way) to safely collect unwanted and expired medications and help prevent prescription drug misuse.
