- ➤ Richland’s Tri-Cities Food Co-op celebrated its first anniversary this month with a month-long series of events featuring local produce, baked goods and community activities — the co-op now plans to expand its product selection and boost member engagement as it enters its second year. - ➤ Potsticker is a calm three-year-old hound mix at Tri-Cities Animal Services who has been waiting for a forever home since September 11. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Over the last year, WSU Tri-Cities increased its enrollment from 1489 to 1609 students and welcomed its largest freshman class along with the first rise in graduate numbers in several years. The campus added two new majors + cybersecurity and social work to meet local demand. KEPR

- ➤ The Port of Pasco is moving from at large elections to district voting to give more fair representation to local areas. The new system will be used starting with the 2026 election — local officials expect it to boost voter engagement. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ The Port of Pasco is moving from at-large to by-district elections to let voters cast ballots only in their local area and increase engagement in a system that controls key city industries using at-large ballots. The first election under the new system is scheduled for 2026. FOX41 Yakima
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Kadlec Regional Medical Center raised its annual pink flag today to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month—urging women to consider genetic testing for harmful BRCA mutations that can raise the risk of cancer.
