- ➤ Washington’s new tax package passed last spring will raise digital advertising costs about 10% and present steep compliance challenges for small businesses. Comcast has filed a lawsuit against the state & some experts worry the rules could drive advertisers to seek lower costs in markets like Idaho. KONA
- ➤ Business owners must prepare for another minimum wage hike on January 1 as Labor and Industries announced a 2.8 percent raise from $16.66 to $17.13 per hour—this increase may lead to worker hour consolidation and possible hiring freezes. The KEY

- ➤ Gov. Ferguson paused deleting Microsoft Teams messages for state agencies, and the six-month suspension ended on August 17 without a new update. Open government advocates say the unclear policy could hurt transparency — they urge lawmakers to act to keep public records safe. KONA
