- ➤ A local Turning Point USA chapter held a tribute at Howard Amen Park on September 19 to honor Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot in Utah on September 10. Chapter president Avery Latendress said the event featured prayers and speeches that stressed unity (highlighting Kirk's role as a father and mentor) and celebrated his lasting influence (which inspired many to pursue politics). - ➤ Richland hosted its 49th annual Sausage Fest, which started Friday at 5 p.m. to raise funds for Christ the King Catholic School, and the event continues today from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.—it offers free live entertainment, food and carnival games. KEPR
- ➤ The family of Sergio, a Tri-Cities food truck owner, remains hopeful while trying to reunite with him after his self-deportation to Mexico following an ICE detention at a citizenship appointment. - ➤ The WA State Department of Agriculture recalled 7LB bags of Signature Pet Care Songbird Blend Wild Bird Food because the bags contain Palmer Amaranth—an invasive weed that threatens crops and the environment.
