- ➤ Franklin County deputies asked the community for help identifying an accused porch pirate who stole two packages from a home on Wernett Road at about 1:47 a.m. on August 5—officials said the suspect was caught on camera riding a bike with a trailer. Apple Valley News Now

- ➤ The WA Utilities and Transportation Commission approved Bell Canada’s takeover of Ziply Fiber on August 5th—Ziply Fiber serves 1.3 million people in the Tri-Cities and will keep operating normally while expanding service in Pasco and other Mid Columbia areas. Bell plans to use the move to grow its fiber network in the U.S. without soon raising rates. KFLD
- ➤ The Washington State Department of Agriculture updated its list to ban the sale of 19 new noxious plant species, including English Ivy, Spotted Touch-Me-Not, and Green Alkanet, effective Saturday, August 9 — a step to protect local agriculture and the environment. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ Richland drivers are experiencing detours and traffic lane changes at the Swift and Wright Ave. roundabout that began August 4 and will continue until August 15 as part of the city's Systemic Stop-Controlled Intersection Safety Improvement Project— the westbound lane is closed for 11 days and the Advanced Warning System at Duportail and Kennedy Road will be completed by August 8.
