Richland’s Operation Best Friend campaign features Yeti, a big, fluffy puppy dog—who is looking to be adopted by an active family—whose playful nature offers a perfect match for local pet lovers.

On July 22, the Richland City Council held a workshop on new parking regulations following the passage of SB5184—proposals call for reducing parking spaces per dwelling from 1 to 2 to between 0.5 and 1 based on size.

City planners noted national trends and said the changes will not affect larger commercial entities such as hotels and educational institutions.

Today, West Richland broke ground on a $33.7 million upgrade for State Road 224 that will add sidewalks, bike lanes, bus pull-outs — and five roundabouts along a 3.5-mile corridor.

City officials said construction will proceed in phases over the next 1.5 years to keep traffic flowing and encourage economic development.
