- ➤ Kennewick motorcycle officer and Benton County deputies arrested 41-year-old Herbert Girton on July 21 for reckless riding after he sped at 60 MPH near West Tucannon and Steptoe Street on July 15—he had no license plate—and taunted the officer before his capture. KONA
- ➤ Richland officials announced a 12-month pilot program using solar-powered mobile security trailers with real-time cameras placed at Claybell Park, Badger Mountain Community Park and the Uptown parking lot to fight rising crime. City partners said the video footage will be managed under strict city rules (kept for 30 days and accessed only by authorized personnel) to decide if the units will become permanent. KONA
