Good morning, Richland.

On Friday night, a fire destroyed about eight storage units at Badger Mountain Storage on E.

Reata Road and firefighters worked for several hours as a person suffered serious burns and was taken to hospital + witnesses reported fireworks near the scene while part of the roof collapsed.

The Parks and Recreation Commission in Richland is considering a recommendation to change park hours to 10:00 p.m. instead of 11:00 p.m. to reduce late-night problems - a review noted that nearby cities already have a 10:00 p.m. closing time.

Benton County Fire District 4 credited its 911 dispatch partner SECOMM for efficiently handling high call volumes on July 4th when several fires erupted during celebrations—coordinating mutual aid that kept primary structures safe.

The department said their quick response ensured no primary buildings were lost.
