- ➤ The TSA reminded Richland residents that a Costco membership card cannot be used as a REAL ID—travelers should use a U.S. passport, military ID, or trusted traveler card instead. KFLD
- ➤ Benton County Sheriff’s Office launched a new online incident reporting system that lets rural residents and businesses report misdemeanors—such as illegal fireworks, mail theft, and harassing phone calls—for faster investigation. KONA
- ➤ Starting June 11, the intersection at Swift Boulevard & Wright will be closed for roundabout construction until the end of July as detours are set up and traffic controls are enhanced at nearby intersections. The City of Richland says new signage and an advanced warning system will also be added to help drivers. KONA

- ➤ A study published in Pediatrics on June 9 warned that TikTok skin care routines may cause lifelong skin allergies for girls as young as seven because many teens use several products on their faces. Researchers found that teens use an average of six products with high risks for irritation—some videos even show up to 10 products in minutes—and only 26% include sunscreen. FOX41 Yakima
- ➤ The FDA recalled 1.7 million dozen eggs sold by chains including Walmart and Safeway after a salmonella outbreak sickened 79 people and hospitalized 21 in states such as Washington — shoppers should check their egg cartons for recalled codes and return or discard them as needed. This recall applies to brown cage free and brown certified organic eggs distributed from February 3 through May 6 with sell by dates from March 4 to June 19. The KEY
- ➤ A study found that children who ate more soy foods showed faster response times during attention tasks, suggesting a link between soy isoflavones and better focus at school — researchers analyzed seven-day diet records and testing results from 128 kids aged 7-13.
