- ➤ The Richland-based lab signed an exclusive option agreement with Ampcera — the partnership will refine a new solid-state electrolyte that could help lithium batteries work better and cut manufacturing costs. - ➤ Eight Washington trade groups led by the Building Industry Association sent a letter on May 27 asking the DOJ to review state energy rules—rules that they say force a switch from gas to electric heating and drive up costs for families. KONA
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ New research published in BMJ Nutrition Prevention and Health shows that low-calorie diets are linked to more depression symptoms—especially among men who tend to have higher PHQ-9 scores. The study looked at over 28,500 adults who reported their diet and weight, and researchers said that missing key nutrients may raise the risk of depression. FOX41 Yakima
- ➤ Researchers studied more than 1,600 stage 3 colon cancer patients and found that those who ate a diet high in proinflammatory foods had an 87% higher risk of death compared to those with healthier diets (the study also showed that patients who stayed active had better outcomes).
