GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Bob Ferguson signed Senate Bill 5041 earlier this week to allow striking workers to get unemployment benefits starting 15 days after a strike if no contract is reached, up to six weeks. • A small trial from May 27 showed that stimulating the vagus nerve through the ear eased knee pain in 11 of 30 patients, and the treatment method (approved by the FDA for epilepsy and depression) will be tested further in a larger follow-up trial.  FOX41 Yakima

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Families in the Tri-Cities have a fun way to cool off this summer with splash pads that give kids a safe place to play—an option that avoids the risks of swimming in the Columbia River.
