  • Columbia Point Eye Care broke ground on a new 7,000 square foot clinic at Vista Field on Azure Drive. The facility will house medical offices + optical retail space and is expected to complete construction by fall.  KONA

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Richland geoengineers will test the Columbia River shoreline on May 19 and 20 by taking soil samples and measurements between Bradley Boulevard Trailhead parking lot and the Riverfront Hotel. The trail will remain open—users should be careful near the blocked area.  The KEY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tri-Cities Airport received a seven million dollar grant from the FAA for its terminal expansion program. The funding will be used to triple the baggage makeup area and add three jet bridges in a decade-long redevelopment plan that supports growing passenger demand and local jobs.  Apple Valley News Now
  • Gov. Bob Ferguson visited TRIDEC in Kennewick on May 15 and signed several bills—one of which expands the College Bound Scholarship to automatically enroll eligible students.
