  • Workers at Hanford transferred about 41,000 gallons of decades-old waste from an old single-shell tank to a safer double-shell container — the 23rd tank emptied in a cleanup that has moved 3.4 million gallons from aging storage.  The KEY
  • Firefighters in Central and Southeast Washington are prepping for a busy wildfire season this summer, checking equipment and retraining for safety (with activity expected to increase mid-May and June).   • The Kennewick Irrigation District will halt most water deliveries starting May 8 due to repairs at the Chandler Pumping Plant, which may limit water for thousands of acres as peak irrigation season begins.
