  • Researchers at PNNL recently published a paper showing that vapor from lithium oxide created via sublimation speeds a reaction with nickel-rich precursors at around 900° Celsius to form single-crystal cathode material (which may extend battery life).   • The Richland School District will cut school nurse staff from 16 to 10 and replace most secondary school librarians with one district-level librarian for the 2025-26 school year to save about $1.2 million amid a budget shortfall — a plan that has drawn strong community pushback.
