  • A new Washington bill, Senate Bill 5583, narrowly passed on Wednesday and will raise hunting and fishing fees if approved by the House—licenses to hunt deer will increase from $97.50 to $117.30 while seniors aged 70 and older will receive about a 66% discount; the changes will take effect July 1. This measure aims to adjust fees in line with inflation for the first time since 2011.  The KEY
  • Today, Richland and West Richland finished a $5 million upgrade to the Tapteal 1 Pump Station near Duportail and Queensgate that lowered the station by 20 feet, boosted capacity to over 13,000 gallons per minute, and added onsite chlorine generation and a backup diesel generator—funded by Water Utility funds and contributions from West Richland.  NBC Tri-Cities
  • The U.S. Department of Energy has reissued a $900 million call for small modular reactor proposals that requires previous applicants to resubmit their ideas by April 23.
