COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Columbia Park West and Wye Park in Richland are set to reopen on Saturday, March 15 after closing for repairs that removed hazardous waste, garbage, and overgrown vegetation. City officials increased patrols by park rangers and police to ensure the parks are safe for visitors.  FOX41 Yakima
  • The Tri-Cities Men's Expo returns on March 14 and 15 at the HAPO Center to kick off St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Visitors can enjoy archery tag, free golf simulators, and an outdoor pub serving green beer and Irish cocktails — entry is $7 covering both days.  FOX41 Yakima

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A restroom at Two Rivers Park caught fire early Thursday when deputies found it fully burning at 2:24 a.m.—fire crews quickly put out the fire, found no one inside, and are investigating the cause.  FOX41 Yakima

  • The owners of Badger Heights Plaza completed the first phase of a new 10,638-square-foot two-story building at 5069 Ava Way in Richland that offers modern retail space for national brands, boutique shops, and luxury businesses—further work is planned for 2026.  Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Richland is starting the Stevens Drive reconstruction project on Monday, March 17 as lanes between Lee Boulevard and Swift Boulevard are reduced to one way. Workers will add bump-outs, ADA ramps, RRFB crossings and bike lanes — project completion is expected by September 2025 while access to businesses remains available.  KONA

HEALTH NEWS

  • Three pediatricians have opened Nest Children’s Clinic in west Pasco to offer trusted care for local children. The clinic is at 9425 Sandifur Parkway and will hold its grand opening on March 29 from 4 to 7 p.m.—it will be open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with urgent care slots reserved for young patients.  Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business

  • Luxury home sales hit a record with 61 properties selling for $1 million or more this year, including 24 in Kennewick and 20 in Richland. The average sale price climbed to $1.24 million — driven by strong demand from new builds and upgraded homes.  Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business
