- ➤ Emerson Elementary kicked off its ninth annual cereal drive on Monday, Mar. 2 to help students access food during spring break, and donations are accepted during school hours until Mar. 24 & community groups have joined the effort. KEPR
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A Washington State Patrol trooper pulled over a speeding vehicle near Kennewick today and discovered a woman in active labor before providing a police escort to Trios Hospital. He stayed with the vehicle’s toddler while the parents received emergency care. Apple Valley News Now
- ➤ The legislature allocated $3.2 million for cleanup of the state's largest tire heap on Twin Bridges Road and officials say the funds will cover removal to lower fire risk and free up space for new industrial development. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ The Department of Commerce approved $736 million from the federal BEAD program (expanding high-speed internet to 166,500 locations) across Washington, including projects in Benton, Franklin, Adams, Yakima and Grant counties.
