  • Block One Distillery, founded by the local Alford family, now sells its acclaimed premium potato vodka at Mid Columbia Wine & Spirits and local bars while planning to release gin in spring and open a tasting room in Pasco later this year.  Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business
  • Antiques expert Charlene Swain runs Klais Antiques and Creative Framing (located at 1007 Gillespie St in one of Richland’s oldest homes) where she offers custom framing and unique antiques from her 700 sqft shop.   • Julie Wilson, a local landscape architect, acquired Tapteal Native Plants and will move its operations to a new Richland site this winter while spring plant sales and seed orders continue, and she will build a native seed bank, shade houses, and solar-powered irrigation (ensuring smooth service for customers).  Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business
  • Roadrunner Restaurant and Lounge opened on Oct. 30 at 2125 E. ECONOMY NEWS

  • Cold Summit signed a purchase and sale agreement in mid-December to buy a 41-acre parcel at Reimann, doubling its holdings to 72 acres and marking a $290M investment with an eventual creation of 200 permanent jobs; the company plans to start facility construction in late summer or early fall.  Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business
  • Bankruptcies in Benton and Franklin counties have risen with 2,295 filings in 2025—a figure that marks an 8.2% jump from 2024. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Crews from Pipkin, Inc. have begun removing the Bateman Island causeway linking the island to the Richland shoreline under a $1.2 million federal contract, restoring water flow and improving aquatic habitat along the Yakima River Delta. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Congress approved a record $3.2 billion budget for cleanup at Hanford Site, marking an increase of over $200 million from previous years. The funding will help advance nuclear waste treatment and safety projects in the area & protect the Columbia River.  NBC Tri-Cities

  • AAS Investment Ventures is constructing a new Brazilian jiujitsu studio at 3 Louisiana St near Clearwater in Hansen Park, set to open late spring.
