About this event
Safety risk level : 2
Meeting/carpooling : Meet at the RCC at 8:30 a.m. The driving time to the trailhead is 1.5 hours. The suggested carpool contribution is $15. No parking permit required.
Requirements : Bring water, lunch (the winery is not open on Wednesdays this time of year), first aid kits, and dress for changeable fall weather.
Description: Cowiche Canyon is a conservancy property located on the outskirts of Yakima. This is a pleasant, easy, 5.6-mi RT hike on a gravel, former RR bed so has little elevation gain. The trail follows the Cowiche River at the bottom of a basalt canyon. Hopefully there will be nice fall colors this time of year.
